Kyrgyz government supporters retake Osh administration

In another southern city, Jalalabad, gunfire broke out as thousands of interim government supporters surrounding the provincial administration headquarters scuffled with opponents holding the building, two eyewitnesses said by telephone.
In the capital, Bishkek, interim authorities said ousted leader Kurmanbek Bakiyev was behind the seizure of government buildings in all three southern provinces and announced the arrest of a Bakiyev ally they said organized the unrest.
"Bakiyev is behind all this," interim government deputy chairman Omurbek Tekebayev said on state television.
Supporters of Bakiyev, who fled the country after an uprising last month and has taken refuge in Belarus, seized the buildings on Thursday in the cities of Osh, Jalalabad and Batken, kidnapped the governor of Jalalabad region and tried to take control of the area's main airport in Osh.
The takeovers were the biggest challenge to the interim government since it claimed power in the Central Asian nation of 5.3 million after Bakiyev was toppled in political upheaval last month in which at least 85 people were killed when government troops fired on protesters, some of them armed.
One eyewitness in Jalalabad said eight people were taken away in ambulances. The other said at least five people were injured, some with gunshot wounds, and that large crowds of interim government supporters and opponents were facing each other in the street outside the building after the clash.
Both spoke on condition of anonymity.
In Osh, interim government supporters marched to the regional government headquarters and took it back after scuffles with opponents, a Reuters witness said. There did not appear to be any serious injuries.
Interim government chief of staff Edil Baisalov said Usen Sydykov, a former Bakiyev adviser, was detained near Osh overnight and arrested on charges of organizing mass disturbances and trying to seize power.Ability

Palestinian boy found dead in West Bank

Palestinians and Israeli police say a Palestinian boy has been found dead from a gunshot wound in the West Bank.
Palestinians say the teenager was throwing stones at Israeli cars and was likely shot by an Israeli settler. Ambulance driver Talal Eideh says his medical team found the boy dead near his village not far from Ramallah on Thursday evening.
Village resident and journalist Samer Shalaby says other youths who were with the boy said they were throwing stones and came under fire from one or more settlers.
Israeli police confirm the boy's death and say they are investigating the cause. Spokesman Gili Elhadad said Friday that police received reports of stone-throwing and gunshots in the area on Thursday and are looking into both.Freeman
